Thanks to a sponsorship from Bob Maddox of Squid Ink Books in Arizona, we were able to purchase a lot of eco-friendly paper and plastic alternatives for the the 2008 Austin Chocolate Festival.
- The cups are made from corn and are biodegradable.
- The forks are made from potatoes and are biodegradable.
- The to go boxes are made from natural fiberboard and are unbleached.
- The portion cups are also made from corn and are biodegradable.
We still have a some materials left over from last year that we will be using before we begin using the biodegradable products. Our intent is to increase the amount of eco-friendly paper and plastic alternatives as the festival grows if our budget allows for the added expense.
The vendors at the festival will be providing their own materials which may or may not be biodegradable.
If you would like to make suggestions about alternative products please e-mail us at info@austinchocolatefestival.com
