About the Chocolate Festival
About the Chocolate Competition
Participating vendors will offer samples to festival guests and they can compete in up to 11 categories of the chocolate competition. Each vendor can enter as many categories as they wish and are automatically entered into the most popular sample and best booth contests. The public and industry professionals will judge the competitions and the winners are based on their votes. Plaques and ribbons will be given to the winners directly after the competition or delivered by mail. The 3rd Annual 2008 Austin Chocolate Festival competition categories and times are listed below:

Private Party Friday Competition: (judged by professional panel only open to Festival Vendors)
Best Chocolate Sculpture -
Best Truffle -

Public Chocolate Festival Competitions -
(open to participating vendors, and to non-participating businesses, 1st 5 entries only)

Open Competition - (all participating vendors compete)
Best Booth - judged by all festival guests during every ticket time slot
Most Popular Sample - judged by all festival guests during every ticket time slot

Saturday Competitions: (judged by the festival guests)
Best Fudge - Saturday March 8th 10am - 12pm
Best Frozen Dessert - Saturday March 8th 12pm - 2pm
Best Chocolate Cake or Pie - Saturday March 8th 2pm - 4pm
Best Mole - Saturday March 8th 4pm - 6pm

Sunday Competitions: (judged by the festival guests)
Best Truffle - Sunday March 9th 10am - 12pm
Most Creative Dessert - Sunday March 9th 12pm - 2pm
Best Brownie - Sunday March 9th 2pm - 4pm
Best Cookie - Sunday March 9th 4pm - 6pm
Kids Cookie Decorating - Sunday March 9th 4pm -6pm

About the Chocolate Festival
The Austin Chocolate Festival benefits Susan G. Komen For the Cure. The Annual Chocolate Festival has already raised over $5,000 for the Austin Affiliate of Susan G. Komen.  With the support of the community and small businesses we hope to raise at least twice that at the 4th Annual Austin Chocolate Festival in 2009. There are several ways you can contribute besides attending the festival. We have sponsorship and volunteer opportunities available. If you would like to sponsor the festival or volunteer for the Austin Chocolate Festival please use the contact us form on the navigation to the right.

Austin Chocolate Festival Glasses

The chocolate lovers event consists of local chocolatiers and chocolate artisans including restaurants, bakeries, chocolatiers, patisseries, authors, and catering companies.  The vendors will compete against each other in several categories, offer samples to festival guests, and sell their products.

The goals of the Austin Chocolate Festival are:

1. Raise money and awareness for Breast Cancer by benefiting Susan G. Komen For the Cure.

2. Promote small food businesses in Texas that work with chocolate.

3. Provide a creative atmosphere and a symbiotic relationships between the festival vendors, guests, and the media.


Tickets for the 4th Annual Austin Chocolate Festival will be available online soon. There are a limited number of tickets to the chocolate festival so order your tickets in advance.  Tickets purchased online won't be delivered until January of 2009.
