About Katie

KatieCarnevaleFowlerBecause our fundraising is off to a slow start, I asked Katie what she did to help fund-raise for her MS Walk in Boulder besides having MS, she told me "I just "educated" people about MS and how much just a few dollars helps a person with MS. People know so little about the disease and how many people have it. Also, people don't realize that most people are diagnosed in their early 30's and the majority are also women so finding a cure and developing new meds is so important because we could stop it so early in a person's life."

The hard part for me came with what she said next. "I was also just me; silly, sarcastic, and light hearted when talking about it and I don't know how but I got people's attention. I also would tell personal stories about my ups and downs with MS but I always tried to be a bit humorous with them and not too "poor me." I have always found a way to relay my point without being too technical I guess? I think it is just my girlish charm .. Hahaha"

I didn't know much about MS before Katie. But after knowing her, and learning about MS, I have to say I am humbled by the strength of Katie and her ability to be light hearted about it.  That is why we are dedicating this years chocolate festival to her.

The chocolate festival needs your help. We have set a goal of $3000 for our Walk MS Team please help us get there.
